We are all
Hokies

Welcome to my website.  I hope that this can serve as a way to help keep you in touch with me and with everything that is happening in State Government.

I am honored to be serving the people of Virginia in the State Senate. Growing up on the Eastern Shore I learned that there is no higher calling than to serve others and I am grateful for your support.

You have entrusted me with a great responsibility and I will always work hard to keep the promises I made to you during the campaign.

With that in mind, as soon as I got to Richmond this year, I rolled and up my sleeves and got to work, just like I know you would.

I'm proud of the many accomplishments I was able to achieve in my first session as your Senator. I worked hard to build relationships with other members of the legislature from both sides of the aisle. These relationships will allow me to be better prepared to serve our community in the coming years.

Just like I promised during the campaign, I voted to repeal the unfair Abuser Fees and allowed anyone who had to pay those fees to receive a refund.

I worked hard on legislation to help our troops by making it easier for them to vote. Having served myself, I understand the sacrifices our armed services make and will stand up for those who have served this country and those who continue to serve.

I also fought hard to keep Virginia families safe and healthy by trying to keep second-hand smoke out of our restaurants. I don't believe that government has the answers to all of our problems but, as a Doctor, I believe that we have a responsibility to work to keep people safe and healthy.

In going door to door and talking to so many of you this past year I know how important rising real estate rates are. That's why I fought hard this session to help those who are being squeezed by this economy and worked to pass tax relief for hard working Virginians.

As long as I serve you, I will continue to fight for the principles I have always believed in, lower taxes, a clean environment, a first-class education for our children and real solutions for our transportation crisis.

I am committed to being a commonsense voice in Richmond but I can't do it without your help. I need to hear from you, if there is any state issue my office can help with, if you have an idea about legislation for Virginia or you would just like to find a time to sit down and talk, don't hesitate to contact me.

Please be sure to explore my website, learn more about the issues that I will am working on, see if there is a town hall meeting coming up in your neighborhood or just share your ideas.
